Getting your eyes to look wider, larger and brighter is as easy as 1,2,3 if you curl your eyelashes. An
eyelash curler should be a staple in your makeup bag of tricks. They are either metal or plastic. Metal ones work better than plastic ones, but some people are
afraid of the metal ones because of horror stories about cutting off the lashes with metal
eyelash curlers. This can happen if you aren't careful and don't pay attention to the wear of the rubber strip in the curler.
Here are a few tips to help your eyes look their best with the help of an eyelash curler.
Always make sure your lashes are clean and free of any mascara. Use a makeup remover to remove old mascara.
Catch all of the lashes at the same time in the mouth of the curler and curl them upwards. Hold the eyelash curler closed firmly without pulling or tugging for at least five seconds.
Open the curler gently to release the lashes.
Apply mascara to the curled lashes and if you don't think curling makes a difference, test it. Make up one eye with curled lashes and one eye without. You'll see the difference!
If you want a little more curl or you want to "freshen up" the curl later in the day, apply the mascara to the tips of your lashes and hold a few seconds.
To increase the "staying power" of your lash curling, blow-dry the eyelash curler to warm it up. Don't make it too hot to prevent burning or lash damage. Your lashes will stay curled longer and even if you don't want to wear mascara, the curled lashes will stay curly.
