Greetings folks,
Just wanted to share what I am up to currently.
Thursday night our cat gave birth to 1 little black/grey kitten.
The birth went well, but then she walked away - 1st litter.
That was at 10:30pm. Friday at 10am I took over the poor little thing
was cold and hungry - really didn't expect it to be here.
No more kittens born as yet, even as I write this on Saturday afternoon.
I have been feeding it roughly every 2 hours.. but I'm not sure how
much it's getting. I am using a syringe type set up and it appears to
be working.
Keeping it warm is posing a challenge it is tucked in a woollen mitten
a I hold it or rest it in a tissue box bed.
The mother, when I attempt to place it with her seems to want to bite
it and it won't nurse even if I keep momma there. I don't trust that
she won't hurt/kill it.
So that's where I am.
I have done this in the past as well as have had 4 human children.
But I'll tell you this nighttime newborn feeding schedule is for
younger folks then I. lol
Strong little thing, it's going on 2 full days and he/she is calling
now for a feed. So wish him/her and me luck. Thanks
Dianne
